We all have experienced many changes since last year and currently for 2009.  I venture to say that there are few who have not been effected by our economy.  Nearly every industry has it’s down turns, the Lifestyles Industry is no exception.  The public interests in the Lifestyles, all Lifestyles, is on the rise…more and more people are seeking alternatives to the main stream of friendships and relationships.  Finding the Lifestyles offer a level of understanding and acceptance, knowledge and awareness rarely seen in our traditional social standards.  However, just not knowing what lies in the future for so many translates into how one enjoys the Lifestyles and what can and cannot be afforded.

Many of our Members and Sponsors are well known in the Lifestyles Industry.  They represent 1000’s of people who have choosen the Lifestyles through individual interests, providing the ways and means to enjoy their interests and share with others.  Our Membership understands and supports the importance of ALNMA and it’s role in supporting businesses.

Obviously, during the formation of ALNMA we surely could not predict the future, we had no idea nor could conceive our current economics.  But it has been said by many, there has always been a need for a Lifestyles Trade Industry Association, and if there was ever a greater need - it is the present.

We strongly believe that the Association should not place a price on Membership for enconomic reasons when so many are doing there best to remain solvent.  We consider it a privilage and a honor to be representative of our Members, and equally in recognition to the public.  Many have seen the need, even through there own hardships, to support ALNMA through donations - we greatly appreciate this show of support.

Our goals for 2009 is primarily focused upon establishing our Membership.  We encourage our Members to help us spread the word. The establishment of regional and state representatives is crucial to our future representation of our Members.  This is a great opportunity for any current member of future member who wants to get involved in supporting the Association and the Lifestyles on a local level.

We are still in the planning stages for our Fall 2009 Lifestyles Trade Industry Association Convention.  We will keep you posted with updates as they happen.

To our Members, please help in any way you can towards the public enjoyment of the Lifestyles - they represent our future!

We are proud to have Jared at the Creating Change Conference.  Jared brings a lot to the table for ALNMA as a Advisory Council Member.  His knowledge and awareness of the Alternative Lifestyles is recognized throughout the BDSM, Fetish and Kink communities.  He have been a renowned featured speaker a many events, conventions and conferences.

Jared has helped greatly in bringing greater recognition to ALNMA in the Alternative Lifestyles communities.  He will be representing ALNMA at the Conference and how important it is to become part of the Lifestyles Trade Industry Association.

We wish him the very best and hope he sets aside a little time to have some fun!

The past year has been one to remember to say the very least. We have seen change come about in many forms. Things that we once believed and trusted in have taken on a whole knew understanding of how we live. In one way or another most everyone throughout our great country and the world have been effected by these change of events. In all walks of life we face new challenges this new year and many to come after. What once relied upon and thought to be here throughout our lives and those of future generations may well exist only in memory of how 2008 changed our world as we once knew it. As with any change comes hopes of a brighter future and a stronger perseverance to over come our present circumstances.

Like in past times of hardships, people turn to family, friends and neighbors for support and assurance. No different today, but the Lifestyles represent far more personal connection than found outside of the Lifestyles. Very few would ever deny the fact that being in the Lifestyles is living two different lives.

In the public eye, we understand that the Lifestyles is a “underground community” for most part. Far from being a public acceptable lifestyle, it fringes upon misconception, misunderstandings and general misleading. Like many others, we have dear friends in the Lifestyles who share with us our life outside of the Lifestyles. Some might use the term, “friends with benefits”. However defined, these are friends who are with you in hard times, they support you and you’re there for each other.

I’ve been in the Lifestyles for a long time, and not necessarily for reasons most would think of. I come from a moderate religious background, grew up in a nice home with very loving family and raised on Midwest values years back. I have pretty much retained by original childhood values and principals, but I sincerely find the Lifestyles has strong values and principals not much different than that taught by my parents. It’s safe to say that most in the Lifestyles are honest and sincere, hardworking families and individuals who pay taxes, live on average incomes and are not a burden to society.

No doubt, if many came forward proclaiming to be in the Lifestyles, surely many jobs would be lost, families would turn the other way and generally people would be hiding and fleeing from your presence. It has no reverence on the fact that you are a productive citizen, working and paying taxes, educated and responsible human beings. As long as we keep it behind closed doors, don’t talk about it at work, school or play, then well be left alone to do what we do. But should we venture out too far, we can trust in our society of moral judges to correct our evil ways. Individual rights and legal remedies offer little resolve, it comes down to simple fact, there are more of “them” standing on the pulpit of what’s right and wrong than us.

From my vision to the formation of ALNMA it solely centered around to two things, the Lifestyles Communities and the Lifestyles Industry, without regard to public opinion or acceptance. ALNMA was not formed for society to judge it’s acceptance, but it was formed for the Lifestyles, and I will let the Lifestyles be the judge of it values, principals and worth. ALNMA is not likely to change the way society views the Lifestyles, but ALNMA does offer the opportunity for the Lifestyles Communities and the Industry to shape a better future for the Lifestyles and the people who make it what it is, those we can call our friends, love and respect deeper than most can understand.

That’s right, Thanksgiving was a day to celebrate, ALNMA, the Adult Lifestyles Association was officially launched.  Nearly of year of full time work, long hours, decisions and more decisions, and seemed like we never get it done…

Most important, it’s all about the Adult Lifestyles Community, the Lifestyles.  And the Association has one goal, unification, equality and a united community for the future of the lifestyles. 

But what is the Lifestyles Community about?  It’s all about being in the Lifestyles, unified in the Lifestyles without regard to orientation, interests or preferences.  Yet standing for equality, acceptance and respect for all community members.  But united together, sharing one common bond, the Lifestyles. 

The Adult Lifestyles Community is where differences are acceptable, friendships are shared and greater understanding of the Lifestyles help preserve the future of the Lifestyles.

Everyone is a individual, individual interests and preferences, but all with a voice and understanding of what the Lifestyles means to them.

Your voice in the Lifestyles is important, every voice is important and participating in the Adult Lifestyles Community, while supporting the Adult Lifestyles Association is a step towards a change for the Lifestyles.
